Hue Festival 2016 features hot air balloons

 khinhkhicauBesides of many activities in Hue Festival 2016 ( 29th April – 4th May), an international hot air balloon performance will be organized from May 4th-5th in order to not only diversify activities of the festival but also contribute to promote the 9th Hue Festival.

The show will see the participation of foreign pilots and balloonists coming from Thailand, the Netherlands, Malaysia, Switzerland, the Republic of Korea, the US and the Philippines.
Joining the festival, visitors will have a chance to see hot air balloons flying at an altitude of 300-500m and radius of 5-10km as well as mini balloons anchoring to the ground and flying at an altitude of 30-50m and balloon lights.

In addition, “Wish Balloons Drop Day”, “Lovely Moment” photo contest and “Colorful Sky” children painting contest are many other social activities which will be organized with the hot air balloons.

As annual, Hue Festival 2016 from April 29 – May 4, 2016 is featured with various attractive art performances.

There have been more than 20 art teams from five continents registering to join in the festival such as Halleluya dance group (Israel), Amurskie Zori folk dance group (Russia), Della Mae band (USA), Germein Sisters band
(Australia), Stealing Sheep band (UK), Paulina y el Buscapié band (Mexico), Cancer band (Denmark)…

During the time of Hue Festival 2016, visitors staying in Hue can have opportunities to discover the ancient beauty and peaceful life of an old imperial citadel of Vietnam.

The highlight of the festival will be the opening night celebrating the 710 years since the founding of Thuan Hoa, Phu Xuan, ThuaThien-Hue.

Hue Additionally, Vietnamese and foreign artists will join together for art performances in the Hue Citadel, An Dinh Palace and other places in the Complex of Hue Monuments.

The ‘Dem Hoang Cung’ (Royal Night) and ‘Huyen thoai Phuong Dong’ (Orient legendary) events will also be held in the Ngo Mon-Ky Dai Square.

A series of exhibitions and fairs, featuring traditional games and dishes from many localities across the country, is expected to attract many visitors.
