Truong Tien Bridge is 402.6 m long, 5.40 m wide, connecting the wards of Phu Hoa and Phu Hoi.

In 1897, the French Resident Superior in Central Vietnam, Levecque, assigned the Eiffel corporation, known for building the Eiffel Tower in Paris, to design and build the bridge in 1899.

The design of Truong Tien Bridge is in Gothic style, with six steel girders. From above it looks like a huge wave winding on the green water of Huong River.

Along with Ngu Binh Mountain, Huong River, Truong Tien Bridge is considered a symbol of Hue.

Truong Tien Bridge has been called different names. Once it was named after King Thanh Thai, then Clemenceau (the name of a French prime minister during World War I), Nguyen Hoang (the Nguyen Lord who reclaimed Hue in the 16th-17th centuries) and finally Truong Tien (because the bridge was located near the coin casting enterprise of the Nguyen Dynasty).

At night, visitors should not miss enjoying typical dishes of Hue on the Huong River and admiring Truong Tien Bridge.
